Bolota Asmerom, originally from Asmara, Eritrea, graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 2001. While still in college, Bolota's duel citizenship allowed him to compete for Eritrea in the 2000 Olympics. After a training stint with the Nike Farm Team, Bolota decided to return to Tony Sandoval -- his coach at Cal. Bolota is coming off an indoor season where he finished second at the U.S. Championships in the 3000m. Feeling that he is just as talented as any of the other runners, Bolota is confident that he will earn another spot at the Olympics.
