Brennan graduated from the Colorado College in 2004 with a double major in sociology and political science.

During his time at Colorado College, Brennan served as team captain for both the cross-country and indoor track teams. In 2003, Brennan qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championship cross-country meet, where he finished as the Tigers’ top runner.

While at CC, Brennan studied documentary filmmaking under CC graduate Doug Pray, whose prize-winning documentaries include Hype! and Scratch.
